I started my life in photography as a kid in beautiful downtown Bakersfield, California with a leftover WWII Zeiss rangefinder half-frame camera. Throughout my teen years in East Texas, I was kinda into photography, but I had too many other things on my mind to take it seriously. Early in my married life, my wife owned a couple flower/bridal shops, so I had a built-in photo business. I was actually making some money with photography and was able to buy some really good equipment. After a number of years of accumulation, we had a house fire which destroyed thousands of slides, negatives, cameras, darkroom and my interest in photography. In the early 2000’s I swapped a gun for a digital Nikon D70, that camera really turned me off of photography, I just didn’t understand it.
Now that I’m old, the bug bit again. I now take a different view on photography and photo locations. I don’t hike, climb, or wade. If it isn’t within 100 yards from the car, I don’t need to see it.
